Motorhomes & Caravans - Essential Objects

We admit it: we often focus on tips for those camping in tents, in an attempt to make life easier and more comfortable for those who decide to spend time outdoors, giving up their home dimension. But in the great world of camping, the camper family is just as important to us! Choosing to travel far and wide adapting to live in a few square meters shared with family or friends involves sacrifices and some sacrifices. So let's see together how it is possible to make life a little easier for those who decide to use campers or caravans.

Stop the humidity

Those who travel by these means know: in the morning, when they wake up, one of the first things to face is condensation. Especially during autumn and winter, the difference in temperature between outside and inside creates condensation on the glass and humidity in the spaces for storing objects and clothes. In the first case, the solution is to have a synthetic fibre absorbent cloth: if you have to travel as soon as you wake up, you need something that dries quickly and doesn't have to be squeezed constantly. This type of object is the right one: it is on sale on the internet and in specialized shops, it costs relatively little (between 10 and 20 Euros) and obviously it is washable and reusable, which is not bad to avoid the waste of handkerchiefs or paper towels. In the case of humidity in closed spaces we suggest you to buy small absorbers instead: looking on the net you can find all kinds of absorbers, suitable for every kind of space. Personally we recommend those in the form of an envelope or bag because they adapt well to any space, can be hung and, above all, most are reusable.

Order!

When you have little space available, saving on size is crucial. It is therefore better to organize your clothes and objects by storing them in boxes or containers. Our advice is to choose the soft and slightly deformable ones that are on sale in various sizes in the shops of large furniture chains: you will have the opportunity to better adapt them to the compartments on your motorhome without wasting unnecessary space. If you want to transport liquids or fragile objects, it is better to focus on rigid plastic containers, also existing in various sizes and always available in stores or online.

Use the walls

Or the inside of the doors in the compartments. It is neither convenient nor practical to have objects scattered on all the shelves of the motorhome: they take up space that can be used for other things and, in addition, run the risk of falling unexpectedly while travelling. Instead of throwing them all in bulk in drawers, you could buy a magnetic strip/plate to stick on the walls and place keys, tools or kitchen utensils there. Searching online you will find many types (metal or plastic, to attach with screws or simply to glue), with a price range between 6 and 25 Euro. We also advise you to have a large quantity of hangers or hooks to fix where you think it is most useful and hang your things, towels or clothes there. Also in this case everything with a view to more order and freer surfaces.
